Batch 3 was small but dedicated! These kids went from little to no experience swimming to kids with water-safety skills confidence and knowledge! To get through this difficult holiday season, we focused on reflecting on Ezra’s generosity and kindness. We wanted to share our son’s memory with children needing a little spark of hope and warmth this Christmas. Eli, who we allowed to actively participate in picking, packing, and donating the toys, knew that sharing his brother’s memory will make a lot of children happy. We double matched all purchases from our Ezra and Buddies merchandise since we launched in April 2023, and distributed more than 200 toys to different organizations and programs in the Seattle area and in Manila, Philippines. St. Luke’s Medical Center PICU and NICU units (QC, Philippines) - In collaboration with Julianna’s Roar, the toys were donated to the Pediatric Social Service Patients at SLMC who hosted a gift-giving event on December 17th. Home for the Angels (Manila, Philippines) - Home for the Angels is a private, non profit organization in Manila, Philippines dedicated to providing shelter and child care to neglected, abandoned, and rejected infants and children. In collaboration with Julianna’s Roar, toys were donated to put a smile on these children’s faces this holiday season. Seattle Children’s Hospital, Journey Program (Seattle, WA) - Journey Program is a Bereavement program for child loss. Toys donated will hopefully help put a smile on the faces of children who have lost a sibling. The Mockingbird Society (Seattle, WA) - The Mockingbird Society is an organization focused on supporting foster children and youth experiencing homelessness in the Seattle community. The toys donated were a part of the Mockingbird Shop & Mingle event at the University of Washington School of Social Work, where foster kids and adopted kids shop for their families for the holidays last December 2nd. Everett Fire Department Holiday Food and Toy Drive for Volunteers of America - Volunteers of America Western Washington is a Christian-in-action faith organization. Their mission is to empower people and strengthen communities in need, guided by core values of respect, integrity, stewardship and empathy.

To our family, friends and Ezra’s village, let’s fill up Ezra’s Christmas Stocking with love and memories this holiday season! We are hanging Christmas Stockings by the fireplace this year. In lieu of toys that Ezra will never get to play with, we would love to see Ezra’s Christmas stocking filled with loving thoughts and memories this holiday season especially from people whose lives he’s touched. We would also love to show his twin brother, Eli, that his brother is forever remembered and loved. For Ezra and his living twin Eli’s birthday this month, one of the ways we decided to honor Ezra was donating art supply packs to over 200+ children in our local community in Everett, WA, as well as a couple of kindergarten and elementary classrooms, and cancer-afflicted kids and an orphanage in the Philippines. Ezra loved art so much. At the age of 1, we introduced painting as a fun activity for them. His eyes brightened up as we handed him crayons, markers, and paint. He was particularly drawn to coloring and at the age of two, he can sit quietly for more than 40 minutes just bringing life through color on any black and white page. Ezra continues to bring color into the world by sharing his love for art, and bringing hope for children in the simple and littlest ways. His twin brother Eli continues to instill the value of sharing through this act of kindness and generosity inspired by his twin brother Ezra. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Ezra and Buddies showed our support for the dedicated nurses at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, Wa by bringing them some Krispy Kreme Donuts and Starbucks Coffee to warm them up in the 40F weather as they strike through Sunday for better pay, better staffing, and safer workplace and healing environment for their patients. These incredible nurses took really great care of Ezra, his twin brother Eli, when they were delivered via an emergency c-section at just 35 weeks after complications of their mom of preeclampsia last November 2019. Eli and Ezra were the first twins born at 35 weeks without any NICU time and/or complications at the hospital and discharged within 3 days. We couldn’t have made it out the way we did that night if not for our amazing nurses! Our event yesterday was definitely a BEACH BLAST!!! Thank you so much to every one who made this event possible! Thank you for the inspiration, the encouragement, the support and the love! The event was light-hearted and fun! 🥰 Thank you to all the volunteers who came to help set-up and take down without even being asked. You all are rockstars! ✈️ Thank you to everyone who came, most who have important commitments on a Sunday but rushed to the event right after, or made it possible to even come spend a bit of time with us! Having guests travel from as far as Alaska to all parts of WA from Lynden to Vancouver WA for the event meant so much to us. Having the room filled despite having a workday the next day left us speechless! The room was jam-packed but filled with so much love and positive energy!Thank you thank you! 🍽️ Thank you to our amazing caterer, enseamada and to PinkaBella Cupcakes - Bothell for the amazing food that everyone devoured and enjoyed! We took a big step forward tonight. Eli has finally outgrown his toddler bed that we placed right next to our bed after coming back from the Philippines. It has only been 8 months and he sure grew a lot. We knew it was time when we would hear his elbow, foot, or head would hit the sides of his little Thomas the Train bed in the middle of the night. For weeks, we’ve been talking about having him go back to their room. As easy as that sounds to most people, for us, it was so much more complicated and hard. A room untouched for what seems like forever, a room frozen in time and stored golden memories, a room that held so much pure joy was just so difficult to disturb. Getting Eli back to their room meant changing the last sheets that Ezra slept on. This meant Ezra’s scent and prints wiped and eventually gone. This meant, Eli is claiming the room, this time for his own and not to physically share with his brother. For us parents who’ve already lost one child, this meant feeling a mixture of accomplishment (for our son’s independence) with misery, and anxiety being separated from our now only living child for at least 8 hours at night when we first hand experienced that literally anything can happen at any second and moment in time. Tonight we took the step as a family, a big one. JC and I cried as we cleaned and changed the sheets our boys last slept in together the night before our flight to the Philippines last October 10, 2022. We placed the old sheets in a vacuum sealed bag, trying to preserve whatever we can. Eli understood. He said- “Mommy it’s okay to be sad about brother”. This smart and resilient child just knows what to say to his grieving parents. Before kissing him good night, I whispered in the air and asked Ezra to keep Eli safe. Tomorrow we may be three steps back, but right now, this moment matters. Eli is sleeping in his room tonight and we will try our best to trust that he is safe.

Today was hard but we pushed through for Eli. Last year, we brought Eli and Ezra to their first Day out with Thomas. Coming back to this place today brought memories like their twinkling eyes and smile from ear to ear soon as they saw all things Thomas. Ezra should be here and it’s not fair that he’s not. Nonetheless, we thought of him and held our hearts full of love for him throughout the the day. The pain of his absence was torture, but the joy and excitement in Eli’s face healed us in that moment.

Last May, we collected 61 life jackets from community members around Everett, Washington. These life jackets will be distributed to resorts and venues who have a pool or beach access around the Philippines in an effort to provide a layer of protection for children from drowning. It may not be much, but imagine how much lives we can preserve with each use? Tomorrow, July 3rd (Philippines Timezone), from 8-11am, we begin the second batch of Ezra and Buddies’ Make Waves Water-Safety and Basic Learn to Swim program at Siudad de Yloco. This batch will consist of 38 students between the ages of 4.5-11 years old who have little to no experience in swimming. We hope that in this two-week program, students will learn safety around water, basic life-preserving skills, build new friendships, and all while having fun. To the parents of the scholars, we appreciate your cooperation and commitment to this program. Honored to be the first to sign YMCA’s Safety Around Water banner on behalf of Ezra and Buddies and visit the venue to meet the wonderful staff and instructors who made this program a success! More importantly, it was sauch a joy to witness our recipients having fun while learning to be safe around water. YMCA’s Safety Around Water is a grant that provides 100 children the opportunity to learn safety around water in a two-week program from June 19-29. Ezra and Buddies sponsored 20 more spots to the program allowing more children to be able to join this very important program.

This weekend, in honor of Philippine Independence Day on June 12th, we did a Dinner for a Cause fundraiser. We prepared 84 meals for family, friends, and dear neighbors. WE RAISED A TOTAL OF $1,555!!! All proceeds will be used for upcoming programs and events for Ezra and Buddies supporting water-safety and drowning prevention! It was our first time doing this and it sure was a lot of work, but we also did this in honor of our son, Ezra. That said, if we messed up in anyway, please let us know and we’ll make it right! On May 27th, Ezra and Buddies welcomed the first 38 scholars of the Ezra’s Waves - Learn to Swim Program at the VTH Resort through a short welcome program. Thank you to our family and to McDonald’s San Nicolas for helping us make this event a success! The program will begin on Monday, May 29th and will run 5 days a week through June 9th. By the end of the program, the scholars will be able to learn and understand basic water safety measures, as well as learn skills in swimming. Thank you so much to everyone who contributed and supported this program. When you purchased Ezra’s Bunny Buddies and/or donated, you helped at least one child learn how to swim and their parents to learn about water-safety.

Ezra was declared the Philippines youngest organ donor. 🔔May is water-safety month!🔔 Accidental drowning can happen when you least expect it to! It took only less than five minutes for our lives to be changed forever. We were with our closest family celebrating our twins’ third birthday. There was no alcohol nor there was loud music. Ezra slipped out of our sight for a few minutes and our nightmare began the moment he drowned. People were so quick to assume we neglected our son and that things shouldn’t have ended up the way it did, but the truth is, no one will really know how things went down unless you step in our shoes. And believe me, you do not ever want to go there. We never want this to happen to another family. We love our son with every fiber of our being, so we started this non-profit to raise awareness, educate, and promote water-safety. We are beyond proud of Eli for getting his first Coach’s Award during his first official class at KidStrong. Our little man has gone through so much since losing his twin brother, Ezra. Ezra and Buddies’ Bunny Buddies are SOLD OUT in just FOUR DAYS! We are so grateful for everyone who helped us make this happen! This organization is being built from the ground up, from scratch, from nothing to something- all rooted from the love we have for Ezra, the love you all have for Ezra and our family. We are truly grateful. We are able to keep Ezra’s legacy going and Eli feels the love from everyone who’s carried us through this very difficult time. 🪴 IN THE WORKS: ➡️ Swim lessons: Coaches have been selected and hired, venue secured, application and selection process being smoothed out for the first 20-30 students. Our first three batches of students projected start will be the first week of June and July 2023. ➡️ Plushies for a cause: We are launching more of Ezra’s buddies in the next three weeks! We are working hard to get them all ready for release as soon as we can! 🌱 NEW: ➡️ We are working with the snoco YMCA on sponsoring kids in our local community (Everett, WA and snohomish county) to receive free swim lessons. THIS IS A GREAT START, A NEW PARTNERSHIP, AND EXPANSION TO OUR EFFORTS! ➡️ We will start collecting coastguard- approved life jackets for children of all ages. Ezra and his twin, Eli, loved bunnies eversince they were infants. We are proud to introduce our first fundraising product for the Ezra and Buddies’ mission and support for Ezra’s legacy: Ezra’s Bunny Buddies. We worked so hard for this, and every effort was made possible by the eternal love we have for our dearest Ezra. These adorable 6.8-inch bunnies are perfect for all ages and comes in 4 colors- Blue (Ezra’s favorite!), Pink, Cream (Eli’s real-life pet rabbit), and Gray. Each bunny will come with a story booklet, “Mommy’s Silly Little Rabbits” which is a true story and memory of Ezra and Eli authored by Jennae Rosario. Since it is our first product release, we are also including a 2x2 legacy pin of Ezra. All these for $20 (shipping and handling not included). I can’t get over the resemblance here, or all the random times I feel Ezra’s presence merged into Eli. The unique twin connection is real. I’m holding on to the belief that there is an invisible string keeping us together. The invisible string is there, unbreakable, and even while worlds apart, will always keep them connected.

The thing about family photos with twin toddlers is that, it’s nearly impossible. Oftentimes, the unseen captured moment encapsulates stress, sweaty bodies, uncooperative toddlers (until the bribing) and the “holding it together” face. Regardless, it’s still beautiful, still perfect.

Grateful that we were still able to squeeze in our annual pumpkin patch trip right before our big trip! 🎃🍂

Boys at the Washington State Fair back in September 🎢🎡🎠

Before all the smoke came in Seattle, we got to experience a day with farm animals. We also walked Alpacas named Moonwalk and Gaston. It was such an enriching experience! We got to pet rabbits that are up for adoption, feed goats, ducks, chicken, and Pygmy sheep. We learned about herding/working dogs and Alpacas. (Hint: they’re super soft!) Summer moments. Mom’s been too busy to give anyone updates. We got to spend a couple of days at GWL. It’s been 6 months since our last visit and we definitely enjoyed the place a lot more than the first time. We loved going on the long slides and hanging out on the floating pods.
